Gatherings: Kitchen Table 2 by 2

I love this type of gathering. It's friendly, intimate, easy, brief, and very FMM. It helps build Savers' Coops. The inspiration for it was from Ann Westergard, a Shaklee leader from North Carolina who used it to build her very large and successful organization.

Purpose: To build a Savers' Coop, and set up the likelihood of future KT 2x2s for the next generations of Coop builders.

Goal: Expand product use and build Savers Coops. Book additional KT 2x2s.

Setting: Casual, no house-cleaning or fancy snacks.

How it works:

Four people are involved: The leader (A), the builder (B), the hostess (C), and the hostess's guest (D). The builder (B) sets up the gathering with her friend (C), who becomes the hostess. She may or may not be a customer. The builder probably doesn't know the guest (D), who is probably not a customer. The builder brings the leader (A) to help her with the gathering.

The leader presents with the help of the builder.

After the presentation, the builder takes orders, and mentions she'd like to do this again. Then separately she asks the hostess and the guest if she would like to have KT 2x2.

The entire gathering should take about an hour.

The presentation:

A number of presentations lend themselves to this format. Leader and Builder, and possibly the Hostess, should tell their stories during each of them:

Catalog presentation: Each person has a catalog and the Leader and Builder tell about their favorite products within a product category, such as Supplements, Weight Management, Personal Care, etc, while working their way through that section of the catalog. A sample, taste, or demo can be used. A few products can be passed around.

Product presentation: The focus is on trying the products, such as Get Clean, Minerelles, Enfuselle, or Cinch. Refer to the catalog or flyer for facts. Everyone tries the product. The WOW kit is fun to use - you can wash your Hostess's windows or stove top, for example.

Flyer presentation: Use the flyer for each type of product, and go through it page by page. Have the products nearby to handle and possibly sample.

The presentation should stay within the promised time (usually one hour) including order-taking. (Warning: If you go too long with the demo, you may not have time to take orders!)

Taking the order:

Questions to ask at the end of the presentation: 'Which is your favorite?' 'What is your biggest challenge (in that area)?' 'Who in your household would benefit from that product the most?'

After conversation of this sort, ask, 'Do you want to try some then?' (meaning - do you want to try some under those circumstances)

Take the order by having them write down what they want on a paper and refer to the catalog for the price. You can mention lightly that there's a discount program. If they ask about it, tell them briefly: 'They have a program where you can order for yourself online and they give you a 15% discount. It costs about $20 to register. And they have a program for people who want to help spread the word that gives rebates and bigger discounts, which I can tell you about if you're interested. I started with the discount so I could order online, but it's not necessary - I can order for you.' (You don't have to do this in one breath!)

Finishing up

Nice meeting you, thanks for having us, I'll check back with you around the time you expect the order, which is in about X days.

Call back the Hostess and the Guest to ask about future KT 2x2s they could each have. The next KT 2x2s will have the Builder as Leader, the Hostess as Builder, the Guest as Hostess, and a new Guest. And the original Leader will work with another Builder.

Of course the possible combinations of KT 2x2s are infinite. Branch out and enjoy the process.

Rewards and Incentives

A copyable, affordable incentive is to give the Hostess a double discount for the month in which she has the Gathering. That is, if she qualifies for the bonus, she will also get the differential. It apply to her orders and those of everyone she sponsors, potentially a large incentive indeed! The sales leader needs to arrange for this incentive with Field Support. It is NOT the same as giving her DN pricing for the month! Ask your leader for more details.
